Route 36, La Paz, Bolivia – The World’s First Cocaine Bar

Need a pick me up? Next time you are traveling through Bolivia, try and find Route 36, the world’s first cocaine bar. Bolivia is famously known for kicking out the DEA and embracing the production of the coca plant. Route 36 is a travelling bar, what I mean is it changes it’s location every few weeks – probably to evade the hopped up tourists who would never leave. The bar serves up two kinds of coke. “Normal” goes for $14 a gram and “Strong” sells for $21 a gram; compare that to the going rate of $200+ per gram in the states and you might have a new route on Jet Blue from JFK to La Paz tomorrow!
