Wedding Photos You Won’t Mind Looking At

All of my friends are getting married.  And by “all” I mean 2 or 3, plus the millions who show up in the sidebar of my Facebook newsfeed.  So many of my peers are getting hitched that I’ve devised a drinking game so we can play along at home… whenever someone you know gets engaged, chug a milkshake (optional chaser: tears)!

The Big Picture, Boston.com’s photo blog, just published a post of unique wedding photos from around the world.  Here are my favorites:

Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei.  Brunei’s royal couple (the bridge is the daughter of one of the richest men in the world!).  This looks like something out of a fairy tale.

Party bus!  Now that’s a wedding I can get behind.  I’m digging the bear, too.  The groom is giving him the look of loooove!

Harper County, Kansas.  Here we have a tornado wreaking havoc on the world while a newlywed couple tenderly kisses.  I wonder if a house fell on the mother-in-law?  I’m hoping Toto was the ring bearer.  That’s all I got.

“Roland Davis of Colorado (left) and Lena Henderson of West Seneca, N.Y. pose for a photo on July 24 at the Buffalo City Hall. Davis and Henderson were divorced 50 years ago in Georgia and are now remarrying. They went to City Hall to get their marriage license, for their Aug. 4 wedding.”

What?  I’m not crying.  Someone was chopping onions in here.

 Kolkata, India.  Bridal shade.

Chattanooga, Tennessee.  “I said I wanted the RED KitchenAid mixer!!!!”

Sao Paulo, Brazil.  Badassery, now available in black and red.

Nanjing, Jiangsu province.  Part Sailor Moon, part The Little Prince, all adorable.

“An image grab taken from AFP TV shows Syrian rebel sniper Abu Khaled exchanging rings with his bride Hanan, the nurse who treated his leg wound, during their wedding ceremony in the Saif al-Dawla district of the northern city of Aleppo on Aug. 31. In the heart of Aleppo, besieged by Syrian troops for more than a month, a young couple who found love in the time of war exchanged vows.”

Again with the onions.

Taipei.  World’s saddest job.

Taoyuan, Taiwan.  The first Taiwanese same sex Buddhist ceremonial wedding!

Benalmadena.  This is dreamy.

Manila, Philippines. This one actually makes me FEEL (no small task).  The couple is oblivious to the chaos around them.  I love the kids in the background.

Presented without comment.

Finally, a very belated CONGRATULATIONS to Mr. and Mrs. ALPH!  They got married last month and although I wasn’t there, I cried along to the pictures.  What did I tell you about the onions?
