Last week I was lucky enough to get an invite to see Frànçois play an intimate show in a Brooklyn loft. Frànçois is an auxiliary player in the indie rock outfit Camera Obscura , where he spends most of his time touring the world. When he is not on the road he is writing abstract pop tunes under his name own name.
MORE AFTER THE JUMP
Fr√ɬ†n√ɬßois is a French native that moved to Bristol to pursue his music career in 2003. By the sound of his tunes he made the right decision. Last week’s performance was a solo stripped down set from his usual arrangements. He only performed with a guitar and a sampler. The sampler set off an array of ambient sounds, melodies and background noise beneath his melodies that gave him a fuller sound and really made it seem as if he had his own mini orchestra in a box. In short, it was a great performance and I expect big things in the future from Fr√ɬ†n√ɬßois. You can find out more about him on his website or on his myspace.

He is also a great visual artist, he drew all the images for this video.
