Wal-Mart heiress Alice Walton opened a 50,000 square foot museum in Arkansas with more than 400 paintings, sculptures and works on paper. The museum is called The Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art and it was designed by Boston architect Moshe Safdie. The photos online make it looks like Moshe did an outstanding job. Admission is free and there is supposed to be a philanthropic educational program put in place for the areas 80,000 plus school children. Both the NY Times and NPR have extensive pieces about this new museum.
