Man, everyday I think I’ve heard it all. Then Fox News decides to tell people, not only that The Muppets are brainwashing the youth of America against capitalism towards communism, but that any and all environmentally friendly kids TV shows of the past two decades are what spurred Occupy Wall Street.
Dan Gainor, of the conservative Research Media Center was kind enough to lend some insight to The Huffington Post that essentially invalidates any philanthropic or socially conscious thought I had during my childhood:
“This is what they’re teaching our kids. You wonder why we’ve got a bunch of Occupy Wall Street people walking around all around the country, they’ve been indoctrinated, literally, for years by this kind of stuff,” Gainor said. “Whether it was ‘Captain Planet’ or Nickelodeon’s ‘Big Green Help,’ or ‘The Day After Tomorrow,’ the Al Gore-influenced movie, all of that is what they’re teaching, is that corporations is bad, the oil industry is bad, and ultimately what they’re telling kids is what they told you in the movie ‘The Matrix’: that mankind is a virus on poor old mother Earth.“
My favorite part about this quote is that you can feel the trite, snide sarcasm in every word he utters. Oh, I’m sorry, do you not remember when an oil rig destroyed the entire Gulf Of Mexico because some big bad oil baron didn’t have his company’s shit on lock?
What about the little duckies and sealies (yes, I just said sealies) that I’ve seen being hand washed from slick black oil? Or global warming? Oh, sorry, the ozone layer isn’t real is it? It’s like those wars going on in the Middle East…I mean what wars? All the oil guys go to the orphanages and adopt all the little boys and girls and give them ponies, right?!
Anyways, you can watch the video where Fox Business calles Kermie and The Animal commies below..and in the meantime, I am going to go burn a tire \m/:
