Here’s a crazy news story I stumbled upon…seems like $1000 buys you a lot these days!
The trial for a Greenville mom accused of offering $1,000 to anyone who would assault her son’s ex-girlfriend was rescheduled Monday. The proceeding was moved to Oct. 29 because not all of the prosecution’s witnesses had been subpoenaed to appear at the trial, state Attorney General’s Office spokesman Jason Miller said. Karen L. Peet is charged with criminal solicitation, a misdemeanor, for allegedly making the offer to a group of her son’s friends on March 20 during a party in… the basement of her Buck Ridge Drive home. Her son’s ex-girlfriend had been scheduled to be a witness in the boy’s court case. He had been accused of being a graffiti vandal. On April 1, New Castle County police said a cinder block was thrown through the windshield of the 17-year-old ex-girlfriend’s Jeep Cherokee as it sat outside her Hockessin home. On April 6, one of her tires fell off as she was driving on Mill Creek Road. Officers found two lug nuts nearby. The girl was not hurt.
