This has to be the single most disgusting thing I have heard of in a while. Meth has nothing on Jenkem! Jenkem is Zambia’s newest sensation hitting the streets of the impoverished youth. This drug consists of huffing fermented feces and urine. These kids are resorting to huffing Jenkem because they cannot afford to by glue or are too scared to steal gasoline.
Human excrement is scooped up from the edges of the sewer ponds in old cans and containers which are covered with a polyethylene bag and left to stew or ferment for a week. A 16 year old boy is quoted saying that, “With glue, I just hear voices in my head. But with Jenkem, I see visions. I see my mother who is dead and I forget about the problems in my life.” Sources say that the high lasts about an hour.
