Enough is Enough

There was a point in World War 2 that the people decided yes, it is time to get rid of Hitler. Kids signed up to fight for their country, and everyone came together against a common enemy. So when will everyone come together and realize protecting the environment is just as important?

There is a 400 square MILE oil slick (the size of Hong Kong) heading towards the United States’ southern coast today that is expected to hit shores in a matter of days. Of course as a few people are worrying about the environment, there are many others worrying about how it will affect the stock market and weather or not they should buy or sell their stocks. Classy. We are doomed as human beings to failure. But the question is do we want to live to fail another day?

The more we separate ourselves from the natural process of life the less the environment matters to us. If you assume all fish comes pre-fried and frozen then you forget that those are the same fish swimming in petroleum right now. That is our food out there and as for the few fish and birds that survive this, they will be eating and drinking crude oil for who knows how long…and guess who will be eating those fish? Us. Trickle down effects can also trickle up, and if we decide to be disconnected and lazy and SELFISH then this shit will just keep happening. If you are young and still want to accomplish things in life you should care about this. If you are old and have kids or grandkids, you should care about this. If you are rich and don’t want your money stream fucked up, you should care about this. If you like cars or traveling you should care about this. If you are a vegetarian or a carnivore you should care about this. As far as I know we are still living in a land that says we are free, free to make change. Let’s see if that’s still true. Stir some shit up.

  1. One of the biggest problems with oil is the damage which it can produce on the nature. A lot of animals will die because it isnt possible to stop the spread to 100 %. So I Hope that the security will be better in the future.
