CHINA | 16,136 Miles | 9 Movies

I just got back from a work trip to China, much of which in the next few weeks you will be seeing posts about. The flight to China, from NYC to Hong Kong, takes about 16 and a half hours. Which is a lot of time to fill on a plane. So instead of maybe doing something productive, like drawing some shit, reading a book, or working on a new website, I filled the 16,136 miles with as many movies as my brain could handle.

Here is the rundown of the shit that I watched.

Bad Teachers

Shit was ok. Not as funny as i thought it was going to be. A lot of one liners and Cameron Diaz dressing like some prostitot and being a shit teacher. Just aiight.

Submarine

This movies was awesome! Was such a good indie flick filled with great acting and awkward teenage moments, that everyone is bound to relate to. Nice cinematography and great style to it. See that shit!

The Hangover 2

Honestly, not impressed with this one. They took the same exact format of the first one, changed the person that was getting married, set it in thailand, and slapped a “2” in the title. Save ya money khed!

Senna

This shit was amazing! It is a documentary film about the life and death of Brazilian motor-racing champion, Ayrton Senna. It does a great job of putting together clips, interviews, and on board racing footage to form an ill profile on Senna. See that shit!

Transformers 3, Dark of the Moon

Shit wasn’t too bad. If you are looking for something mindless to shut your brain off for a while, this is the way to go. Great action, visuals, and of course your dose of eye candy, but if you are looking a for an awesome story, i would go with something else. (Great to edit photos to) Just aiight.

Super 8

I enjoyed this movie. It had an awesome story filled with tension, action, and some pretty good acting. The details in recreating the 70s were spot on. My only gripe about this on was that, the monster was a tad weak and it got a little cheese-ball at the end. All in all though, Decent!

Music Never Stopped

Another indie flick, another hit. This one had everything, great acting, a great story, and a powerful drama that moves you. Covers all types of music from the 50s 60s and 70s. See that shit!

The Green Lantern

Just another superhero movie. It is exactly what you would expect it to be, cheesy lines, cheesy acting, and a shit ton a special affects. It fulfilled my needs of being another good movie to edit photos too. Shit was aiight.

Black Venus

This shit was INTENSE. You know those type of movie where the main character just gets shit on the entire movie? This in one of those types of movies, accept most have something that changes and there life gets better, yea didn’t happen here either. It was a super heavy movie and most definitely not plane appropriate due to all the sex, violence, rape, and death in this flick. What made it even more depressing was that it is based on a true story. Wish this wasn’t the last movie i watched on the ride home. I would say see that shit because it is super powerful, but then delete all the fucked up imagery out of your head and never speak a word of it again!

All in all, pretty pleased in the entertainment spread. Thanks Cathay Pacific.
