I’m a writer in Providence and It’s sad how Providence went from a city that embraced the art of graffiti to being very anti-graffiti. Just today I was out tagging a bit in very quiet areas and I got stopped by a cop who was looking for a “tagger in a bright red jacket”, i was wearing a maroon jacket. Good thing that cop was a dumbass and didn’t see the can hanging out of my pocket (i forgot to zipper that pocket). But the direction providence has taken on graffiti is just sad to me. Maybe one day it’ll go back to the good ol’ days.
