TTHU: So Diego, WHAT’S ON YOUR IPOD?

D.M.: Well first of all I don’t have an iPod anymore because some thieving fuckers held me up at gunpoint, but this is what I’ve managed to cram onto the media card I have in my Blackberry.

TTHU: Yeah…er…sorry about that…coke is a nasty habit. Glad to see you had backup 🙂 Let’s get right to it!

The Loud Wars

D.M.: Angular mathy indie-rock with weird time signatures and keyboards. Pitchfork haaaaated this album, but fuck Pitchfork.

Doomriders: Darkness Comes Alive

D.M. I don’t know if it’s because of how many people migrate down from Boston to Brooklyn, but Doomriders hoodies are repped harder in Williamsburg than any other band. Weird.

The Very Best of the Rubettes

the-best-of-the-rubettes

D.M.: Total fucking gem. A british Disco-infused Doo Wop band from the mid ‘70s. “Sugar Baby Love” was the greatest song I heard in 2009.

Best of the Clancy Brothers

D.M.: Irish music is some of the most depressing music on the planet. It’s all about wars and oppression and dying for no reason.

Gallows: Orchestra of Wolves

D.M.: I was born in the wrong England.

D.M.:
Also British. Also Doo-Wop. Plus, I nominate “What you drinking? Rum or whiskey/ Won’t you have a double with me?” as the greatest opening two lines to a song ever.

TTHU: Thanks for your time Diego! And for our readers, you can click the names of each artist if you want to hear previews at Amazon.
