I saw this last night and thought it was really good. It definitely brought up many questions in my mind in no particular order. Such as A. What the hell happened to all the hippies? They had a momentum and yet nothing ever changed. B. How do we define terrorism? Isn’t it all in the eyes of the beholder? By today’s definition our founding fathers were terrorists. C. What do Osama Bin Laden and the Taliban actually want? Is whatever they want worth all the war and destruction or is there some kind of compromise that can be met? I haven’t really thought all this out yet, but I’m sure some of you have some answers. Anyways, this movie is on Netflix Instant play and I am sure you can get it elsewhere. I just thought it was an interesting perspective on a sensitive, timely subject.
Yes, a great movie indeed. While you’re at it, watch ‘The Lives of Others’ (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n3_iLOp6IhM&feature=player_embedded)
the hippies are dead
revolution doesn’t come from sitting around getting fucked up with your friends and talking about your world changing ideas
it comes from putting those ideas into action and being devoted to your ideals
fuck kids today
True, but unfortunately I don’t think kids today want any change. Not real change. Not the kind of change that makes people really uncomfortable. And really is it worth fighting for change when no one gives a shit?
