In 1942 LA’s directory listed 42 letterpress and 17 paper companies in downtown. Currently there is only 1 paper company, barely finding the juice to go from month to month, and 1 letterpress company managing by. As technology increases the more things we were all used to experiencing like newspapers, magazines, and pressed business cards the quicker they are disappearing. I am glad there are still some people like them and good friend of the blog, repeatpress preserving this art.
