One of the things I love most about tattoo culture is the art of tattoo flash. Used as practice, advertisement and as study’s for new work, these paintings are usually either displayed in shops or kept in a private stash. The difference between getting a tattoo and getting an amazing piece is as simple as picking an artists image off of the wall.
Recently I stumbled upon the blog of Troy Trujillo. Though he is talented as a tattooer, it was his collection of flash that grabbed my attention. Take a minute (Or a few hours) and flick through his work. This past year he dedicated himself to doing one piece of flash per day, some of the pieces are pretty killer. I think it is a good example for people not in the know of how great traditional tattoo art can really be.

If you really want a good piece, give your artist a rough idea and %100 creative control and you could walk away with a gem like one of these.
