Robert DeNiro and Bruce Springsteen were photographed at a reception for the Kennedy Center Honors rocking the gay pride colors to express their support of gay rights to President Obama. Not only is this really cool but it is also a bit ballsy, and possibly a great way to influence future legislation. Obviously it would be hard for people of such social status to attend rallies/protests/etc so this is their way of saying we’re for gay rights, just thought ya should know! Way to go guys! I guess they may have missed the passage in Matthew 7, judge not unless thee be judged, or maybe they just don’t actually care about religion and simply use it as a tool to push their own political agendas. What am I talking about? There is a group of conservative crazy Christians praying for President Obama’s death. Psalm 109:8 “”Let his children be fatherless, and his wife a widow.” Seems pretty nuts to me or maybe you think I am misinterpreting the scripture, take a look at it for yourself HERE. Regardless of your political stance it seems wrong to wish death upon anyone, unless we can go back in time and kill reality TV, Hitler, and everything else I don’t agree with, then it is okay.

Part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act that Obama passed a while back included some changes to how students get tax credits for education. Now, “course materials” are covered. This means you can get the tax credit for stuff that you buy out-of-pocket, not just for tuition. (Since it’s a credit, you’ll still get the cash even if your income ends up being diddly-squat at the end of the year.) [source]
