A few weeks ago, Skrillex spent 5 nights tearing up New York City for the end of The Mothership Tour..which I honestly thought would just go on forever. it was like 6-8 months long. Seriously, the guy played something like 322 shows in 2011. I was fortunate enough to catch the first 3 nights of his NYC invasion at Webster Hall, Pacha, and at an invite only secret event WESC held at the newest addition to nightlife in New York, W.I.P.

SOOO the city of New York decided to donate there old subway cars back in 2008 to add there addition to a grave yard of ancient steel relics from all over. They transported them to a reef off the coast of Delaware entirely of old subway cars (2500 of them in fact), tanks, old ships and much more huge metal crap. Is there a reason i did not know about this? does everyone elts know about this? why the fuck am i so pissed that i didnt know about this?. Anyways these pictures are sick and u thought you good people should be able to enjoy them.

Post, post Christmas sales kick ass. Retail boutiques generally have a high influx of customers before the holiday season, then things drop off. That is the time to buy. In New York City many of the high end clothing companies are having sales in their retail outlets. I saw a pair of $600 boots in Rag & Bone for $120 last weekend with the majority of their winter footwear and winter gear on sale. A.P.C., the company that makes my favorite denim, is having a sale on shirts, sweaters and outerwear. If you are looking for some new duds and live in NYC or were thinking of taking a trip, this weekend and next weekend is the time to move. Retail is ready to bring in their Spring lines so take advantage of these sales before everything gets split up between Marshalls, GUILT, ETC. Even if you only rock what you get for a few weeks before it gets warm again, you will still have dope gear for next winter at half the price. Just a tip!

Strolling through the city opens your eyes to a world of tiny (and not so tiny) pieces of art.

To celebrate the release of her new book “Tokyo Tattoo 1970″, Martha Cooper put together a small exhibition and book signing at Urban Folk Art in Brooklyn, NY. Her new book documents the tattoo master Horibun and features other tattoo related images that Martha took in 1970′s.
