Subtext Is Deadly by BRAHMS from Big Ugly Yellow Couch on Vimeo.
Indie rock trio Brahms performs a stripped down version of Subtext is Deadly. I have had the pleasure of seeing this band live a few times and I have to say that I see them as one of the most promising bands coming out of New York City at the moment. Excited to see what they do next. BRAHMS

The final days of school are here upon those who attend school! Get loose like Free Energy does in their new video for BANG POP.
It is Monday, take a hot second and discover some new music. If you don’t like what RCRD LBL has to offer then scan some other blogs, youtube, whatever. Just take a moment out of your busy day to discover something new. I bet it makes your week a lot better, regardless of how well your weeks regularly flow.
Meet all of your friend’s new favorite band, CULTS. Before even releasing a full album they were written up on Pitchfork (given a 9.something) and they played their first show over the weekend at Mercury Lounge where most of the major labels (and some indies) were represented. Hear more of their music HERE.
The new XX music video for the track Islands is above. It looks like a mix between a Louis Vuitton and Diesel advertisement with some cool but repetitive choreography. Overall, good video. The CGI fire is cool but I would have rather seen the set actually burn.
Band of Horses is back with a new music video for their single, Compliments, a track that will be featured on their new album Infinite Arms. I am loving this video!
Enjoy some new tunes and start your week off the right way!
Better late than never! Brought to you by RCRDLBL!
