Cancer is a man-made disease fuelled by the excesses of modern life, says a study of ancient remains. Tumors were rare until recent times when pollution and poor diet became issues, the review of mummies, fossils and classical literature found,according to Michael Zimmerman, a visiting professor at Manchester University. To trace cancer’s roots, Professor Zimmerman and colleague Rosalie David analyzed possible references to the disease in classical literature and scrutinized signs in the fossil record and in mummified bodies. Despite slivers of tissue from hundreds of Egyptian mummies being rehydrated and placed under the microscope, only one case of cancer has been confirmed. This is despite experiments showing that tumors should be even better preserved by mummification than healthy tissues. Dismissing the argument that the ancient Egyptians didn’t live long enough to develop cancer, the researchers pointed out that other age-related disease such as hardening of the arteries and brittle bones did occur. The first reports in scientific literature of distinctive tumors only occurred in the past 200 years or so, including scrotal cancer in chimney sweeps in 1775 and nasal cancer in snuff users in 1761.

‘There is nothing in the natural environment that can cause cancer. So it has to be a man-made disease, down to pollution and changes to our diet and lifestyle.

Sometimes in life you just say fuck it. My wife and I have been talking for years about getting out of the city and having a bit of nature around us. When I was living in Allston I would sometimes go weeks without stepping on a patch of grass – in fact I think I saw more greenery in baggies than I did outside. So without much of a plan, Leslie and I sold our house and decided to just camp for a while.

This is pretty funny since my wife is probably the most well-dressed woman I know, and even her “athletic” shoes have a little heel on them. I’ve also always enjoyed nature from a window as opposed to living in it, but sometimes in life you gotta scare the shit out of yourself and just do something different. So…we bought an old-school RV, put all of our shit in storage (XBOX, Flatscreen, furniture, etc.,) and we just kept 2 bags each. One bag is personal items (laptops, books, paper) and the other bag has 7 days worth of clothing in it.

We also brought the 2 cats which was not my original dream, but it didn’t seem right to abandon them or leave them with friends. So now, I wake up at 8am, shower in a bathhouse, sit at my picnic table, drink coffee and chill before I come to work. At night I commuter rail it home, Leslie and I set up a campfire and we have some beers and just chill. So far so good. Here are a few flicks of the new whip!

CSI actor Laurence Fishburne is ‘very hurt’ that his 19-year-old daughter is set to star in an X-rated porn movie to be released later this month, and it is Montana Fishburne herself who has revealed the trouble that she has caused in her family. The young wannabe actress is making a porn film in conjunction with Vivid Entertainment, TMZ is reporting.

The adult film giant is behind the distribution of several celebrity sex tapes including those starring Kendra Wilkinson, Kim Kardashian and Paris Hilton, but unlike the other famous stars, Montana is not claiming that her tape was stolen or illegally ‘leaked’.

‘I view making this movie as an important first step in my career,’ said Montana. She added: ‘I’ve watched how successful Kim Kardashian became and I think a lot of it was due to the release of her sex tape. I’m hoping the same magic will work for me. I’m impatient about getting well known and having more opportunities, and this seemed like a great way to get started on it.’
