The multiple layers and contrasting colors give the whole look such a noble, stately feel. The powers at be decided to throw in an extra kick and had some well known names steal the show. The likes of Adrian Brody, Tim Roth, Gary Oldman, Emile Hirsch and Willem Dafoe graced the runway putting the opening credits of Resevior Dogs to shame. I now realize that no one will ever be as god damn terrifying and stunning as Willem Dafoe in a suit fit for an emperor. Throw Christopher Walken in the line up and women would have been throwing their panties on the runway.

Post, post Christmas sales kick ass. Retail boutiques generally have a high influx of customers before the holiday season, then things drop off. That is the time to buy. In New York City many of the high end clothing companies are having sales in their retail outlets. I saw a pair of $600 boots in Rag & Bone for $120 last weekend with the majority of their winter footwear and winter gear on sale. A.P.C., the company that makes my favorite denim, is having a sale on shirts, sweaters and outerwear. If you are looking for some new duds and live in NYC or were thinking of taking a trip, this weekend and next weekend is the time to move. Retail is ready to bring in their Spring lines so take advantage of these sales before everything gets split up between Marshalls, GUILT, ETC. Even if you only rock what you get for a few weeks before it gets warm again, you will still have dope gear for next winter at half the price. Just a tip!

The wifey is happy to know that I have some sense of fashion. I still rock Carhatt almost daily, but I live in New England, not Paris.

The Dries Van Noten Fall/Winter 2012 show really caught my eye this year, take a moment to educate yourself. These jackets are absolutely bonkers. I love the Margaret Kilgallen feel of the installation and I will definitely be stealing that double dip brush technique you see below.

KiD CuDi – Dangerous by Hypetrak

KEDS used to be kind of a wack brand. Only nurses and moms wore KEDS. Recently they redesigned their classic shoes into something a bit more modern. Above is the KEDS Chukka, a comfortable, lightweight, stylish shoe for the summer, fall or spring. I picked up a pair of these a few weeks ago and I plan on ordering a few more soon! We are not getting paid to write about these shoes so if you are tired of everyone rocking the same Vans and Converse (we also love both of those brands too) then pick up a pair of KEDS to mix things up a bit. Vivienne Westwood’s new fall menswear line features faux homeless models with faux frostbite. I wonder if she actually stopped to think about the message she put across before releasing this piece of shit upon the runway. The state of our economy is not great and many of us in this country are one paycheck away from homelessness. I guess I can get the whole “heroin chic” thing. No one forces you to use heroin and drugs are inherently part of most facets of the fashion/entertainment industry, that is almost undeniable. However, homelessness is not necessarily in our control. If Ms. Westwood happens upon this post, I hope she will consider donating a few bucks to the homeless, we all know that she most likely pays pennies on each dollar to have her garments manufactured and could spare a few cents. I just gave mine.
