This video is pretty amazing. Some poor bastard was arrested for being drunk in public and serenades the police with his rendition of Bohemian Rhapsody. EPIC! I like how this guy remembers every word and also includes select drum fills. Hopefully he is out and about singing and not in a cell somewhere.

I’m pretty sure just about everyone has seen the video of “Occupy UC Davis Police pepper spraying and arresting students 11-18-11″. It spread pretty fast in just a few hours. The video shows Police pepper spraying students who are sitting down in a line on the ground linking arms at point blank range. It seemed the use of the pepper spray was completely uncalled for! This is truly awful. The circumstances are still unconfirmed but reports through twitter have said the driver of the car was agitated that the road was blocked and forced him or herself through striking 2 pedestrian protesters. Recent twitter reports have stated that at least one of the injured is potentially dead. If you want to watch the aftermath of the incident without sound the video is below.

7:45 p.m. Injury accident on Broadway at 11th Street
A man and a woman were hit at 11th Street and Broadway by a silver Mercedes, after a male driver ran a red light, said Joe Jackson, 37, of Oakland, who witnessed the incident.
The driver was irritated by protesters walking in front of him.
Onlookers said the driver deliberately ran over the pair, accelerating after a man hit on the hood of the car.
The windshield was splattered with what appeared to be a milkshake.
After the car stopped at the other end of the intersection, the driver switched seats with his female passenger.
About 40 people gathered in the intersection and some pulled open the driver’s door.
The woman inside shouted: “I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I’m sorry!”
The injured man and woman were taken away in ambulances.
Police let the driver go.

When you see the badlands in person you understand why they are called the badlands. The badlands was and is probably the coolest thing I have ever seen geographically in my life. The only other thing I can say that might be on par with awesomeness is the Giant’s Causeway in Northern Ireland. Once you enter the badlands from the east, you aren’t far from the main event: the Theodore Roosevelt National Park.

When we crossed into North Dakota and stopped in Fargo we were told we had to go to Teddy Roosevelt National Park where we could see real live, wild bison. (For those of you who don’t know, the proper term for North American Bison is bison, not buffalo. In fact buffalo is a misnomer – buffalo are native to Asia and Africa i.e. water buffalo and bison are the cows with afros we see here in the good ol’ USA!) And within about a half mile we were greeted by this fellow.

This was awesome. Leslie could have reached out and grabbed him if she wanted…

There were hundreds of Prairie Dogs running from hole to hole and making funny squeaky sounds…and this one-horned bison aka bisunicorn.

Saw wild horses for the first time in my life!

Teddy Roosevelt’s National Park is something you have to see in person to really appreciate how diverse the American landscape is. I know it seems weird but the landscape and nature you will see will move you. There is such a sense of history and you realize it wasn’t really that long ago. You will also leave thinking more about your own footprint on this Earth, and how delicate it all really is. I can honestly say a trip to the Dakotas and Northwest should have been a lot higher on my life’s must see places – it just felt like home.
