Aiko, a stencil artist who began as a member of the now two-man art collective, Faile, recently exhibited some of her work at the Urban Folk Art Studios in conjunction with Brooklyn Tattoo. Aiko aka Lady Aiko, was born in Tokyo but has resided in NYC since the mid 90′s. Aiko has worked with photographer Martha Cooper on various projects and her work in this show specifically is inspired by Cooper’s photography from her book Tokyo Tattoo 1970.
To celebrate the release of her new book “Tokyo Tattoo 1970″, Martha Cooper put together a small exhibition and book signing at Urban Folk Art in Brooklyn, NY. Her new book documents the tattoo master Horibun and features other tattoo related images that Martha took in 1970′s.

The group is made up of four anonymous (for the time being) dudes from Brooklyn, who have been putting music online for months and have already been recognized by the likes of the London Times and NME.

The Buzz – “This mystery project is comprised of four anonymous producers, and their immaculate first offering…certainly sounds like they know their way around a mixing desk.”
