ALGORHYTHMS & NEVER FOLLOW SUIT RECAP

May 22nd, 2012 | Art, Headlines | 0 Comments

Friday night was a good night to be in Massachusetts. At Fourth Wall in Boston, JURNE and MWM opened their show entitled ALGORHYTHMS, a project the two writers have been working on for quite some time and definitely a ambitious project with the amount of work showcased. Jeff Griecci, the man behind the highly anticipated Year-Round Metal Enjoyment video, was in attendance and shot this great video to go along with the show. Check out some of my favorite pieces from the show as well. ALGORHYTHMS is on display until June 29th. Make sure you stop and check it out. Some really amazing and well executed pieces of work.

After the show in Boston, I headed up to Lowell to check out a show I contributed to with a solid bunch of writers. Here are some flicks from that event as well.

‘Never Follow Suit’ is located at the 119 Gallery in Lowell, MA @ 119 Chelmsford Street and that is up until June 18th.

“PROCEED & BE BOLD” A SHORT FILM ABOUT SIGN PAINTING FROM JOSH LUKE FROM “BEST DRESSED SIGNS”

May 15th, 2012 | A/V Club, Art, Design, Interviews | 1 Comment

I absolutely love sign painting. I feel like sign painting is one of the most interesting and comforting forms of art that i have ever been around, it has so many stylized technical elements to it that its hard not to be a little curious about the skill thats involved in it. I have been so into sign painting over the past year after going to the Best Dressed Signs show at Orchard last year that i begged my dearest friend Mr.Nakayama to start teaching me the craft. This is a great film and i hope it gets people to not only support these artist but also makes you look at the letters on the building you live in a little different next time you walk by them.

Phutureprimative & Shpongle : House of Blues Boston

May 7th, 2012 | Headlines, Music | 0 Comments

On Friday night I had the pleasure of photographing Phutureprimative and Shpongle at the House of Blues in Boston. These two artists bring a very different atmosphere to the somewhat over-saturated ‘dub step’ scene at the moment. Phutureprimative’s most recent album, Kinetik, has been one of the most listened to albums I have purchased in a long time. It’s most certainly a step in the right direction in terms of the trends in electronic music at the moment. And if you haven’t witnessed a Shpongle performance yet, then these photos might not do any justice, especially because it was only a DJ set. Although Shpongle isn’t my ideal musical taste, it is hard to pass up a chance to envelop yourself during a Shpongle set. They have some of the most diverse and diehard fans in my opinion. Check out both of these artists at their respective websites:
