and an electrical system based around a bank of six 12 volt batteries.

You may or may not have seen Obama’s Iraq speech last night, but in my opinion it wasn’t one of his best. First of all, it is great news that we are pulling out of Iraq. Better late than never, but not without some serious costs. I graduated college in 2001, just months before 9/11. And I can honestly say it hasn’t been a decent economy for regular, working class people since. So, what I have been wondering is when will regular, working class and middle class people WAKE THE FUCK UP and realize that the threat of terrorism isn’t worth losing your jobs, your homes, and your children’s future over?

From the speech:

Unfortunately, over the last decade, we have not done what is necessary to shore up the foundation of our own prosperity. We have spent over a trillion dollars at war, often financed by borrowing from overseas. This, in turn, has short-changed investments in our own people, and contributed to record deficits. For too long, we have put off tough decisions on everything from our manufacturing base to our energy policy to education reform. As a result, too many middle class families find themselves working harder for less, while our nation’s long-term competitiveness is put at risk.

Why doesn’t Obama take more shots at his predecessor? His language is so soft and vague that I started wondering if it was Obama’s fault we are in this mess – even thought it was obviously George W. In 2 years the Republicans are going to make us all forget that George W. ever existed and unfortunately it is up to Obama to remind people’s short term memory that he is the clean up crew not the destroyer.

Our most urgent task is to restore our economy, and put the millions of Americans who have lost their jobs back to work. To strengthen our middle class, we must give all our children the education they deserve, and all our workers the skills that they need to compete in a global economy. We must jumpstart industries that create jobs, and end our dependence on foreign oil. We must unleash the innovation that allows new products to roll off our assembly lines, and nurture the ideas that spring from our entrepreneurs. This will be difficult. But in the days to come, it must be our central mission as a people, and my central responsibility as President.

I’m sorry, but I feel like we have been hearing this rhetoric for fucking years now. I’m into it; it all sounds great! Let’s fucking go green! Let’s get some jobs and educations and shit! What’s the fucking holdup? Is it congress? Is it the house? If so, Obama should be telling the American people who is stalling so we know who is KEEPING US FROM HOMES AND JOBS.

This speech was fucking worthless and Obama needs to RUN SHIT. And if any of this shit bothers you call your congressmen and tell them you will make sure they do not get elected again if they don’t RUN SHIT.

The Arcade Fire and Google teamed up to create a pretty amazing interactive video using the Google Chrome search engine. Head to TheWildernessDowntown.com enter an address, (where you grew up, your current address, etc) and have Google Map’s images of your town brought into the Arcade Fire video. Some towns do not have enough information to fully work, if your town does not, try a neighboring town or a city. Don’t attempt without Google Chrome, I did and my computer freaked out and 90% of the video was a black screen.
