Last week I was lucky enough to catch the opening of “100 Paintings” at Klughaus gallery in Chinatown, NYC. “100 Paintings” was the solo exhibition of illustrated works from Portland, Oregon based artist OBLVN. Klughaus has been putting together some really incredible shows since they recently opened and this one is a must see if your in the area.

Not since the hay day of former heavy weight skateboard company World Industries, have I seen a line of skateboard graphics this offensive. It’s kind of a refreshing change from the typical company logo bullshit graphics we had to deal with over the last couple years.
Last Thursday night I was lucky enough to score an invite to the Shwood X Busmills X Bodega party at Fourthwall Gallery in Boston. The rather odd trio had teamed up to create some pretty radical sunglasses from old Bushmills barrels. The party they put together was also pretty amazing including a super good DJ, party visuals by Oliver Mak, a hand painted Bushmills logo by Mr. Never and lets not forget all the free whiskey you could drink! Thanks for a great nite guys.

DYSTOPIA FILTER III represents the third installment of a series of multimedia group exhibitions featuring a cross-section of some of today’s most vibrant, creative talent.Curated by Stephen Holding, DYSTOPIA FILTER III took place during Armory Week, NYC’s biggest and brightest art fair. With a large turnout, the show ended up being successful as well as a blast to attend.

After years of negative comments about how boring their skateboard graphics were, it looks like skateboard heavy weights Plan B have finally decided to listen. While they still have a long way to go, I appreciate the effort. If this is going to be an ongoing venture, then I’m excited to see what they have in store for the next couple years.
