SOOO the city of New York decided to donate there old subway cars back in 2008 to add there addition to a grave yard of ancient steel relics from all over. They transported them to a reef off the coast of Delaware entirely of old subway cars (2500 of them in fact), tanks, old ships and much more huge metal crap. Is there a reason i did not know about this? does everyone elts know about this? why the fuck am i so pissed that i didnt know about this?. Anyways these pictures are sick and u thought you good people should be able to enjoy them.

It can be as bad as it looks, but really, it’s worth it.

What is it? Kombucha is a culture created from a solid mass of yeast and bacteria typically grown in black tea. The symbiotic culture of bacteria and yeast is scientifically classified as a “Zoogleal Mat”. Resembling a pancake or mushroom, the culture adds properties to the tea that can then be consumed for medical reasons. This is not a drug and has extremely low amounts of alcohol, no where near enough for the consumer to become intoxicated. This “tea” is consumed souly for its “miracle” medical properties.

Kombucha has its roots in the ancient East but its recorded history started in late 19th century Russian literature. It has been used in many cultures around the world and briefly used in the 60′s during the hippie movement. Most recently, the resurgence of of popularity in kombucha can be attributed to dirty fucking hipsters (very similar to the hippies of the 60′s but they are too lazy to protest war and create music that will never inspire anyone, anywhere, ever.).

What does it do? Well, for the most part, it hasn’t been proven that it does much of anything. The most conclusive tests, in so many words, say kombucha is beneficial to the function of your liver. There are miracle claims that it cures cancer, gauruntees long life and wards off bad energy. Believe what you will. I drink like a fucking fish, smoke lots of cigars, have a shitty metabolism and even shittier imune system and I poop waaaaaay too much. As far as food that I put in my body, I am pretty health concious, but I drink kombucha every day because it simply makes me feel better.

When it comes down to it I am not a firm believer in Western medicine. I’m not satisfied with simply taking medicine for the discomfort caused by the body. Through an Eastern mindset I am trying to fix the problem that causes the discomfort.

Historians are tirelessly working to uncover and preserve GRAFFITI left by Civil War soldiers in an old hospital in Virginia. Talk about a mixed message from adults. Kids don’t do graffiti it’s wrong…but when you get your first job we are gonna take a few pesos from you to restore someone else’s old tags…

I watched the livestream of #occupydc and police moved in with plastic riot shields, batons and helmets, and according to the ustream reporter police “indescriminately bashed people in the heads with their batons.” The reporter named “officer Kellenberger of the US Park Police” specifically as someone who was using brutal, indescriminate means.” He also said “90% of them are not wearing badges or nametags.”

You know this combines two of my favorite things…graffiti and sticking it to el man. Don’t fuck with nerds who have steady incomes or else this is what you’ll get!

This goes out to my best friend Robert in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Robert and I have been friends since we were 16 and he moved to the USA when we were 20. That year the most common phrase that came out of his mouth was “Only in America!” It usually went something like this: 128 oz fountain Coke for $0.99? ONLY in America!

Today’s Only in America celebrates the most American vehicle out there…the Ford Pickup Truck. $65,000 was invested into this beauty. It can be driven as a 2-wheel drive, a 4-wheel drive, or even a 6-wheel drive! It has 14 shock absorbers (most cars have 4), plus an air suspension that will provide another 6 inches of lift over the massive 42″ tires, but the most important factoid is there is a propane tank hooked up to the dual-exhaust system so you can shoot fire out of your tail pipes!!! ONLY IN AMERICA!

The multiple layers and contrasting colors give the whole look such a noble, stately feel. The powers at be decided to throw in an extra kick and had some well known names steal the show. The likes of Adrian Brody, Tim Roth, Gary Oldman, Emile Hirsch and Willem Dafoe graced the runway putting the opening credits of Resevior Dogs to shame. I now realize that no one will ever be as god damn terrifying and stunning as Willem Dafoe in a suit fit for an emperor. Throw Christopher Walken in the line up and women would have been throwing their panties on the runway.

First up I know a lot of you are thinking HUMMER? Really? Look, this isn’t the bright yellow grocery getter that soccer moms in Jersey drive to Target on the weekends. This is a fucking military vehicle rebranded for the streets and it is awesome! Sure, it’s part of the reason we had to go to war for oil, but it’s also the reason America is awesome. Let’s get down to brass tacks with this one.

The 1993 H1 goes for $23,000 on ebay. It has a 6.2 Liter Diesel V8, which means you should be able to get at least 200,000 miles out of that engine. It has 150HP/250LBS of Torque, which is shockingly low for such a big vehicle and engine, however, you won’t be drag racing the thing so it shouldn’t really affect you and it can still tow 10,000+ pounds!

The inside of this beast is massive, with at least 3 feet between the driver and passenger seat. All this space doesn’t mean roominess though, it’s a military vehicle designed to house big men with lots of gear, so don’t think this will replace the family mini-van.

At this point in time, I would say a Hummer H1 is best used for people who live in the middle of fucking nowhere. Utah. Montana. Wyoming. Nevada. Places where the terrain is rough and the roads are rougher. This is a vehicle designed for a rancher with huges amounts of acreage and no tow trucks in sight. You can pull stumps with it, you can drive it through ravines, you can rockcrawl, and then, every once in a while roll into town and look like a gangster or a polygamist cult leader!

UPSIDES: still a rare head turning car, intimidation factor, best stock offroading vehicle ever produced
DOWNSIDES: 13MPG, $500 per tire, people thinking you’re an asshole, parking, carbon footprint

Vermont prison inmate pranks the state police

20 bucks says this dude was a writer.

From the Burlington Free Press:

“A creative Vermont inmate has modified the state symbol that adorns police cruisers to include an image of a pig, said state officials.

One of the spots on the cow in the Vermont state crest has been changed to be the shape of a pig. The car decals are made by prisoners in St. Albans in a shop that also make state stationery and license plates.”

Turns out these ended up on about 30 squad cars. Get up son!
