Today’s Only in America celebrates the most American vehicle out there…the Ford Pickup Truck. $65,000 was invested into this beauty. It can be driven as a 2-wheel drive, a 4-wheel drive, or even a 6-wheel drive! It has 14 shock absorbers (most cars have 4), plus an air suspension that will provide another 6 inches of lift over the massive 42″ tires, but the most important factoid is there is a propane tank hooked up to the dual-exhaust system so you can shoot fire out of your tail pipes!!! ONLY IN AMERICA!

First up I know a lot of you are thinking HUMMER? Really? Look, this isn’t the bright yellow grocery getter that soccer moms in Jersey drive to Target on the weekends. This is a fucking military vehicle rebranded for the streets and it is awesome! Sure, it’s part of the reason we had to go to war for oil, but it’s also the reason America is awesome. Let’s get down to brass tacks with this one.

The 1993 H1 goes for $23,000 on ebay. It has a 6.2 Liter Diesel V8, which means you should be able to get at least 200,000 miles out of that engine. It has 150HP/250LBS of Torque, which is shockingly low for such a big vehicle and engine, however, you won’t be drag racing the thing so it shouldn’t really affect you and it can still tow 10,000+ pounds!

The inside of this beast is massive, with at least 3 feet between the driver and passenger seat. All this space doesn’t mean roominess though, it’s a military vehicle designed to house big men with lots of gear, so don’t think this will replace the family mini-van.

At this point in time, I would say a Hummer H1 is best used for people who live in the middle of fucking nowhere. Utah. Montana. Wyoming. Nevada. Places where the terrain is rough and the roads are rougher. This is a vehicle designed for a rancher with huges amounts of acreage and no tow trucks in sight. You can pull stumps with it, you can drive it through ravines, you can rockcrawl, and then, every once in a while roll into town and look like a gangster or a polygamist cult leader!

DOWNSIDES: 13MPG, $500 per tire, people thinking you’re an asshole, parking, carbon footprint

Post, post Christmas sales kick ass. Retail boutiques generally have a high influx of customers before the holiday season, then things drop off. That is the time to buy. In New York City many of the high end clothing companies are having sales in their retail outlets. I saw a pair of $600 boots in Rag & Bone for $120 last weekend with the majority of their winter footwear and winter gear on sale. A.P.C., the company that makes my favorite denim, is having a sale on shirts, sweaters and outerwear. If you are looking for some new duds and live in NYC or were thinking of taking a trip, this weekend and next weekend is the time to move. Retail is ready to bring in their Spring lines so take advantage of these sales before everything gets split up between Marshalls, GUILT, ETC. Even if you only rock what you get for a few weeks before it gets warm again, you will still have dope gear for next winter at half the price. Just a tip!

CES is a massive, massive tradeshow. It’s in the Las Vegas Convention Center which is 3.2 Million square feet. Think of it this way. It’s the size of 18 Wal-Mart Supercenter’s and then it is cut up into thousands of smaller booths and hallways. The Samsung exhibit reminded me of just how big this building is. Samsung’s booth had walls and a ceiling and was at leas the size of a Best Buy. After being in there for about 45 minutes I asked someone how to get back into the convention center and after a confused look they said you’re in it. Anyways, here’s the best of what Samsung has to offer for 2012.

Samsung has always made great TVs and the new Super OLED Sensation is just that! It’s beautiful on the outside and the picture quality is better better than real life!

Just look at how thin these things are!

One thing that surprised me to see in this modern era is a major tech company bringing BACK old technology! The return of the vacuum tubes is a beautiful thing. If any of you have ever played an old guitar amp you know what I mean.

Another cool thing Samsung has invented is Internet Content Enhancement. This is a feature on their new displays that processes your shitty skype signal and smoothes it out and colors it and relights it so it looks more HD and doesn’t have huge square pixels everywhere!

Finally, for those of you who don’t want a regular iphone photo sent to your facebook, Samsung is allowing you to hook up their digital cameras to your cell phone so you can “always be connected everywhere blah blah blah”

Sometimes you need to keep 1 Terabyte of data in your pocket? Right? Sometimes you need biometric Thumbprint scanning to unlock your data? Right? I don’t know. Regardless, this is pretty cool, mainly because in 2 years this will be commonplace technology.

Victorinox has created this product for high tech geeks on the go, and probably for CIA spies as well. It has a laser pointer, remote control for powerpoint presentations, and it comes in 128gb, 512gb, and 1 Terabyte models.

Price for this badboy? $2000!!!!! Here’s the current, cheaper model.

Marley bags is Rohan Marley’s (one of Bob’s kids) brand of musical luggage. You can hook your mp3 player up to them, spark a fattie, and enjoy some fresh dank air.

They look a lot like an upsidedown skate deck in a big purse…and I really don’t mean that in a bad way.

The fabrics they chose are nice and I like the fact that they have a different style than most of the other musical luggage items I saw. However, I didn’t get to hear them or see if they have any storage inside. Even knowing that, I have a huge feeling you will see these at a skate/surf shop near you in the future.

The revolution will be televised! This goes out to all my people in the Occupy Movement. For $250, this 1080p HD camcorder can broadcast a live feed over the net to anywhere in the world. Imagine the next protest where 50 people have these tethered to their Android phones. UNFUCKINGSTOPPABLE!

The Bloggie Live has 8gigs of memory and shoots 1080p HD video. It has an exterior LED light for low light situations and a flip out USB arm for charging or uploading, but the key here is the fact that you can stream wirelessly as long as you have a wifi connection.

hahaha, I know a lot of you will read this title and be like what the fuck does that even mean? Let me tell you THIS Jerry! LG totally fucking killed it this year. I used to think, what’s the deal with buying name brand electronics? I love my Dynex and Insignia flat screens. They are super cheap, and look great! But, they don’t have these features. LG offers a 3dTV for gamers that allows two players to play each other on one screen and yet they can’t see each other’s moves on the same screen. (watch the video for an explanation) LG also debuted their cloud gaming service. This is for the lighter gamers out there and would allow you to play some dope video games without an xBox or Wii, all through the LG tv.

Let’s be honest, 3D TV is kind of a novelty. You spend more time trying to scan the screen for cool 3D stuff then watching the terrible movies in 3D. That has all changed. After seeing dozens of different branded tv’s at CES 2012, I can promise you LG is the best one hands down. I would say it’s closer to a hologram than a 3D tv. You can stand at least 10 feet away and still experience the full power, plus no matter where you sit in the room the 3D reaches out to you. Also, there were moments where the screen looked like a stage with vertical and horizontal 3D. Crazy, crazy, stuff. If you are going to buy a 3D tv, your only choice is LG . I’m not even joking when I say do not buy any other brand of 3d TV. The difference is astonishing.

These two products struck me as must haves for 15 year olds and 30 year olds…depending on your income of course. The JVC Kaboom is a 40 watt portable boombox that can play all your different types of media, it holds and protects your iphone, and if you wanna get real crazy you can plug a mic or an electric guitar into it! Take that street performers! Ludacris is getting on the headphone tip, since Beats by Dre are doing so well, but SOUL by Ludacris has a new product to shake the house down. It’s a portable PA system that was loud as hell and good looking in the process. Check the video for more info on both.
