The multiple layers and contrasting colors give the whole look such a noble, stately feel. The powers at be decided to throw in an extra kick and had some well known names steal the show. The likes of Adrian Brody, Tim Roth, Gary Oldman, Emile Hirsch and Willem Dafoe graced the runway putting the opening credits of Resevior Dogs to shame. I now realize that no one will ever be as god damn terrifying and stunning as Willem Dafoe in a suit fit for an emperor. Throw Christopher Walken in the line up and women would have been throwing their panties on the runway.

Vermont prison inmate pranks the state police

20 bucks says this dude was a writer.

From the Burlington Free Press:

“A creative Vermont inmate has modified the state symbol that adorns police cruisers to include an image of a pig, said state officials.

One of the spots on the cow in the Vermont state crest has been changed to be the shape of a pig. The car decals are made by prisoners in St. Albans in a shop that also make state stationery and license plates.”

Turns out these ended up on about 30 squad cars. Get up son!

I think i just watched this film without blinking once. Tattoos are something that i respect, collect, are addicted to (at a modest pace) and i believe in the idea of them being important in the process to becoming who you are. Films such as this one, really give you a amazing view on how powerful this art form really is. They bring up the points of “who ownes the artwork” and “why is it still looked at like a underground thing, when its the most popular form of art in the world?”. Check it out its definitely not a waist of 45min!!!!

It still blows my mind every time i see one of JR’s new projects. Who would of thought years ago that blowing photos up to the size of a building could produce art/humanity projects as powerful as this. I hope he never stops.

I will always have a respect for letterpress and for the people who are reviving the craft. In a very digital age, we forget to recognize the beauty and character that is inherent in the process. The character that is embedded in each letter laid down shows through to whatever surface it touches. Lets just hope it continues to gain momentum.

Boardwalk Empire on HBO is such an impressive show, but with Scorsese at the helm, how could it not be?! If you haven’t seen the show, I highly suggest it. It is set in Atlantic City, New Jersey, in the prohibition era and follows a host of characters, but mainly focuses on Enoch “Nucky” Thompson (Steve Buscemi). The imagery, set design, costume, and acting are all on point. No wonder why the 1st episode alone cost $18 million to produce.

A good chunk of the budget has to go to the computer generated graphics as shown by these 2 videos. They breakdown all the compositing of Season 1 and 2 of real footage, computer graphics, and special affects and show you how its done. Brought to you by Brainstorm Digital…
